Eric Lee Gorby, 59, of Paden City, WV transitioned into eternity on Friday, December 10, 2021 while at Cleveland Clinic.
Eric was born April 10, 1962 in New Martinsville, WV, son of Marilyn Kaye (Freeland) Gorby of Middlebourne, WV and the late Edwin Wesley Gorby.
He was a retired store clerk for thirty-six years with the former Witschey’s Market, a 1980 graduate of Tyler County High School, enjoyed old cars, teaching his bird to talk and working with people, loved playing with his granddaughter and member of the choir and St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Paden City.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Brittany Marie Gorby and brother, Brent Gorby.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife of thirty-seven years, Karen (Ankrom) Gorby; two sons, William Gorby of Paden City, WV and Andrew Kile of Hurricane, WV; four grandchildren, Brittany Marie Gorby, Andrew R. Kile, Adam Kile and Jack Kile and several nieces, nephews, cousins and his large extended family.
Friends received 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Paden City with Pastor Sheri Kernik officiating. Burial at the convenience of the family in LaZear Cemetery in Kidwell, Tyler County, WV.
