Obituary for Phyllis Jane Ward (Potts)
Phyllis Jane Ward, 86, of Paden City, WV passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021 while at Sistersville General Hospital.
Phyllis was born March 4, 1935 in Paden City, WV, daughter of the late Jess and Olive Potts.
She was a homemaker after serving as the secretary of Paden City High School, loved reading, solving crossword puzzles and making ceramics, a graduate of Paden City High School Class of 1953, avid WVU Basketball and Football fan and a Christian by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Ward (2017) and her favorite Boston Terrier, Sophie.
Surviving are her son, Joseph (Donna) Ward of Paden City, WV; daughter, Lois (Brian) Burgess of South Carolina; sister, Linda McGlumphy of Moundsville, WV; three grandchildren, Emily (Jordan) Reed, Taylor Burgess and Anna Burgess; three nephews, Brian McGlumphy, Steve McGlumphy and Allen McGlumphy.
At Phyllis’ request private services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in Paden Memorial Gardens.
