Obituary for Terry Alan Hines
Terry Alan Hines, 57, of Paden City, WV passed from this life on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 while at Reynolds Memorial Hospital.
Terry was born December 22, 1964 in Bellaire, OH, son of the late Donald Ray and Kathryn Louise (Corbett) Hines, Sr.
He was a carpenter with Local 436 out of Bridgeport, WV. Terry enjoyed wood working, adding on to his garage, remodeling his house and fishing. He was a Jehovah Witness by faith, who read his bible daily.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, William and Della Hines; maternal grandparents, Thomas and Mildred Corbett and brother, Robert Hines.
Surviving are his wife of twelve years, Kathy (Virtue) Hines; three step-sons, Daniel (Ann) Shurak, Jr. of Continental, OH, James Shurak and Steven Shurak both of Wheeling, WV; three step-daughters, Amy (Jay) Stokes of Canton, MS, Mandy Shurak of Paden City, WV and Bethany Shurak of New Martinsville, WV; two brothers, Donald Hines of Perry, FL and Stephen Hines of Greenwood, WV; sister, Della Beanard of Wheeling, WV; eight step-grandchildren, Kyle, Hayden, O’Ryan, Liam, Braysen, Phoebe, Sadie and Addie; brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Wanda Strautmann of Wheeling, WV and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
At Terry’s request there will be no services.
Terry saw the Carpenter’s Union as more than job. He loved what he did. He was such a strong advocate for union brothers and sisters of all trades and truly believed in the new generations of apprentices. He wanted everyone in the trades to succeed and be the best they could. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to WV Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship Training Center, 110 Boyles Lane, Parkersburg, WV 26104.
