Obituary for Charles Robert "Bob" Rogers

Charles Robert “Bob” Rogers, 86, of New Martinsville, WV, passed away May 4, 2022 peacefully at his home.

Bob was born August 1, 1936 in New Martinsville, WV eldest son of the late Charles and Gertrude (Hartman) Rogers.

He was a graduate of Magnolia High School Class of 1954; a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean period; a lifelong member and past Governor of New Martinsville Moose Lodge #931. Bob was a fifty year member of Wetzel Lodge #39 A.F. & A.M. and Shriner with the Nemesis Shrine; “Big Blue Chain Crew (1964-1994); American Legion Marne Post No. 28, VFW Post No. 9930; Bob was “very well” known for helping to coach his grandchildren and many generations of children and teenagers in various sports in the local area.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Mary Jo Gaiser; sister-in-law, Juanita Huggins Parsons and in-laws, Emery and Clarice Huggins.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley (Huggins) Rogers; his children, Michael Rogers of Paris, KY, Daniel (Tammy) Rogers of Richland, KY, Eric Rogers of New Martinsville, WV, Susan Kotson of Moundsville, WV; brother, Jon (Paula) Rogers of Follansbee, WV; six grandchildren, Blaze (Andrea) Rogers, Vanessa Rogers, Chase (Jessica) Barker, Chelsea Barker, Chad Barker, Blake Rogers; great grandchildren, Carter Johnson and a baby girl due in August 2022.

Friends received 2-5 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV. Private interment services will be held at the convenience of the family in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville.
