Obituary for Lionel Kent Potts
Lionel Kent Potts, 74, of New Martinsville, WV passed from this life on Monday, July 18, 2022 with his family by his side.
Lionel was born October 17, 1947 in New Martinsville, WV son of T. Deloris (Hayes) Potts of New Martinsville, WV and the late Jack O. Potts.
He was a retired employee of Consolidated Coal, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, 1965 graduate of Magnolia High School. He enjoyed golfing, playing slow pitch and fast pitch softball and corn-hole. His favorite teams were the Cleveland Browns, Indians and WVU Mountaineers. He was a member of the New Martinsville Moose Lodge #931 for over forty years, and a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife of fifty-two years, Helen (Weber) Potts; son, Jeff Potts of New Martinsville, WV and many brothers and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
Friends will be received from noon until time of service at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville. Burial to follow in the Clarington Cemetery in Clarington, OH.
