Obituary for Goldie Jane Poole
Goldie Jane Poole, 100, of New Martinsville, WV received her reward on Saturday, October 22, 2022 while at Genesis New Martinsville.
Goldie was born at home on February 17, 1922, in Wileyville, WV daughter of the late Cyrus and Lena (Horner) Poole.
She was a hard-working lady. Started her career in the kitchen at the old Wetzel County Hospital and after many years she moved to Herrick’s IGA where she worked in the deli until she retired in 1987. Nothing gave Goldie more delight than going to church, teaching others about Jesus and reading about God. She was a member of the Steelton Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, I. Mae Poole in 2004 along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Goldie is survived by special friend, Connie (Kevin) Yeager of New Martinsville, WV and her three adopted grandchildren, Andrew, Alex and Addison Yeager, several cousins, friends and her church family.
Friends received 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville where funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2022. Burial will follow in the Pool Cemetery near Wileyville, WV.
