Obituary for Paul "Pap Paul" Conner Jr.
Paul Conner, Jr. “Pap Paul” completed his earthly journey Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Wetzel County Hospital. Born August 22, 1940 in Moundsville, WV to his late parents, Paul and Wilma (Bonnette) Conner.
Paul worked as a teenager at Moundsville Country Club and Kings Glass. He was retired from Bayer Corp. as a chemical operator, graduated from Moundsville High School and served in the United States Navy for four years. Paul was an avid golfer– having a hole in one and bowler with several three hundred games. He enjoyed gardening and was a meticulous care giver to his lawn!
Paul married M. Ruth (Shank) Conner in 1963 and would have celebrated sixty years of marriage on August 17, 2023. His most important mission was being Pap Paul to his three grandchildren. He enjoyed every moment shared with them attending choir concerts, hunting, adventures with sons and grandsons and attending every baseball game within a one hundred mile radius and he attended the Lighthouse Community Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Conner.
Survived by, in addition to his wife, two sons, Troy (Tricia) Conner and Brock (Erma) Conner; grandchildren, Brianna, Landen and Zachary; sister, Dollie “Sis” (Bill) Foster; sister, Tammy White; uncle Paul to several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Gertrude Shank; cousin, Clyde Conner; sister-in-law, Sue Conner; special brother-in-law, James Shank who he cared for and treasured; a special thanks to his hero – Michael McDowell and “Like-a-son”, C.J. (Holly) Myers.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, December 15, 2022 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, where funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2022. Burial to be held at the convenience of the family.
