Obituary for Homer Gene "Farmer" Wade Sr.
Homer “Farmer” Gene Wade, Sr., 86 of Proctor, WV passed on Friday, March 10, 2023 while at Wetzel County Hospital.
Homer was born July 16, 1936, in Sutton, WV.
He was a retired Captain operating a Dredge boat, used to enjoy collecting guns, was quite a joke teller and loved to go hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Bertha Wade and five siblings, Allice O’Neil, Dorothy Hamilton, Mary Anderson, Granville Jack Jenkins and Anna Frances.
Surviving are his two sons, Homer (Melinda) Wade, Jr. of Sistersville, WV and Stephen (Michelle) Wade of New Martinsville, WV; three daughters, Mary Jane Wade and Eva Irene (Donald) Henry both of Proctor, WV and Sarah (Aaron) Cogar of Paden City, WV; two sisters, Pearl (Charles) Smith and Frances Yost both of Middlebourne, WV; ten grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received 1-4 p.m., Sunday, March 12, 2023 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville. Burial held at the convenience of the family in the Greenwood Cemetery in Sistersville, WV.
