Obituary for Charles H. Johnson Jr.
Charles H. Johnson, Jr., 74, of New Martinsville, WV passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 while at Wetzel County Hospital.
Charles was born October 10, 1948, in New Martinsville, WV son of the late Charles H. and Betty Lou (Howell) Johnson, Sr.
He was a retired labor, enjoyed wood working, listening to music, feeding both deer and birds and hunting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Charla Jobes.
Surviving are his four children, Gregory Johnson of Proctor, WV, Angela (Marshall) Carpenter of Paden City, WV, Charles Johnson, III of New Martinsville, WV and Barney (Jodi) Johnson of Canonsburg, PA; two sisters, Barbara Starkey of New Martinsville, WV and Pam (Bill) Locke of Paden City, WV; four grandchildren, Drew Carpenter, Kyle Carpenter, Dylan Johnson and Theo Johnson; great granddaughter, Averliegh Carpenter; significant other, Linda “Sue” O’Neil and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received 4-7 p.m., Friday, April 21, 2023 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, where services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023 with Pastor Dan Betts officiating. Burial to follow in Limestone Methodist Cemetery.
