Obituary for Sharon Louise Smith (Cunningham)
Sharon L. Smith, 66, New Martinsville, WV ended her battle with cancer on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at her home with her family by her side.
Sharon was born January 4, 1957, in New Martinsville, WV daughter of the late Robert Lee and Mary Belle (Yost) Cunningham.
Before her illness, Sharon was a retired manager of Dollar Tree. She enjoyed collecting crafts, gardening, cooking and watching her son dirt track racing; and her granddaughters were her pride and joy. Sharon was a 1975 graduate of Valley High School.
Surviving is her husband, Timothy “Tim” Smith; son, Chadrick “Chad” (Carol Coleman) Smith of Sardis, OH; daughter, Samantha “Sami” (Mike) Schmisek of Littleton, CO; brother, Robert (Julie) Cunningham of Wheeling, WV; two sisters, Barbara Jones of Tuscaloosa, AL and Wanda (Mick) Haught of Chatsworth, GA; three grandchildren, Maggie, Ellie and Kate Schmisek; special friend, Betty Bonnell and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received for a Celebration of Life from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, August 17, 2023, at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Craigs Chapel Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wetzel County Hopes and Memories, 296 N SR 2 Lot 27W, New Martinsville, WV 26155 or dropped off at the Bayer Credit Union.
