Obituary for Joseph Kevin Henthorn

Joseph Kevin Henthorn, 58, of Friendly, WV passed away on October 29th, 2023 in Grand Junction, Colorado doing what he loved to do, hunting. Joe was born in Weirton, WV on July 16th, 1965 to his late father, Jackson Henthorn and his late mother, Kay Barrett.

Joe has been married to his best friend, Christina Henthorn for 29 years. He is the loving father of three kids; Joseph (Katelyne) Henthorn of Fairmont, WV, daughter, Logann Henthorn (Logan Grimes) of New Martinsville, WV, daughter, Kyra (Patrick) McGraw of Porter Falls, WV. He is preceded in death by a baby daughter, Angel. He is the proud pappy of 6 grandchildren Makinlee Proctor, Amzee and Charlee McGraw, Ryder and Talen Grimes, and Callum Henthorn. He is survived by his siblings Jackson (Margaret) Henthorn, Deborah (Donald) Robinson, Teresa (Rick) Stillwagoner, April (Eric) Wolfe, and so many nieces and nephews that absolutely adored him. Joe was also a proud dog dad, and will be survived by his four-legged companion, Rocky.

Joe is a 1983 graduate from John Marshall High School. Shortly after, he joined the Army where he was an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Specialist. He served 10 years for the country he loved. After serving, he worked construction with his brother-in-law Don before getting hired with Momentive where he was a Team Leader and has worked for 26 years.

Joe enjoyed every moment spent with family and friends. He loved to garden and can for his family, wood work and make gifts for his daughters and wife, and hunt/fish with his son. Joe was passionate about life and always strived for adventures. He never let anything slow him down and would often be heard saying, "It is what it is".

Please join us on Friday, November 3rd from 2 p.m. until the celebration service at 8 p.m. for a viewing, where we will share memories and remember Joseph's life. Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV.

Momentive will be hosting a dinner, in Joe’s honor, on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 4 p.m. at Momentive Park there in Ben’s Run, WV. All of Joe’s family, co-workers and friends are invited to join in this meal.
