Obituary for Dorothy Marie Blatt (Beagle)

Dorothy Marie Beagle Blatt, 93, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 in Paden City, WV.

Dorothy was born on December 16, 1929, in Marietta, OH daughter of the late Oda and Josephine (Hudkins) Beagle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernest L. Blatt of seventy-four years; daughter, Teresa Martin; great granddaughter, Kelly Young; nine brothers, Burl, Howard, Glenn, Carl, Leslie, Perry, Francis, Harold, Cecil Beagle and two sisters, Sylvia Rice and Wanda Springer.

She was a member of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church in Paden City, WV.

Dorothy lived for her family. She loved spending time with her family and she loved her six children; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

Above all, she enjoyed taking pictures and sending cards. Many memories have been shared over the years, in her home enjoying the wonderful meals she prepared.

Survivors include her two sons, Ed (Brenda) Blatt of Culleoka, TN and Steve Blatt of Paden City, WV; three daughters, Wanda Ferrebee, Patti (Mike) Jobes and Linda (Larry) Sweeney all of Paden City, WV; sisters-in-law, Patty Beagle of New Matamoras, OH, Bonnie Hizer of Paden City, WV and Phyllis Sonneberger of Akron, OH; brother-in-law, Frank Blatt of Paden City, WV and two feline Tommy and Sammy and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family received 5-8 p.m., Friday, November 3, 2023 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home in Paden City, WV. Mass of Christian burial will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church with Rev. Shinto Mathew officiating. Burial to follow in Paden Memorial Gardens in Paden City, WV.
Rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Dorothy’s name, to Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church, 302 E Main St., Paden City, WV 26159.
