Obituary for Mary Greathouse

Greathouse, Mary Lee, 90, of Proctor, died November 24, 2013, at Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale, W.Va.

Mary was born January 24, 1923, in Buffalo, W.Va., (Marion County) daughter of the late Fred D. and Elsie Starkey Cartright.

She was a homemaker, liked to sew, a hard worker, loved her grandchildren, a good mother and grandmother, and member of the Proctor Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Lee Greathouse; two sons, Dallas F. Greathouse and Gary Greathouse; two grandsons, Justin F. Anderson and Jesse James Dean Anderson; brother, Charles Cartright; and two sisters, Helen Virginia Beaver and Betty Hornak.

She is survived by three daughters, Nancy (Dave) Anderson and Norma (Ernie) Anderson, both of Proctor, and Mary Ann Thompson of Paden City; brother, Norman Thomas Cartright; sister, Alberta (Harold) Higgins, both of Rymer, W.Va.; 45 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Homes, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, where service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, November 29, 2013, with Don Kline officiating.

Interment to follow in the Thorne and Huey Cemetery near Mannington, W.Va.
