Joseph “Joe” H. Cooper, 84, of Paden City, WV died Saturday, January 23, 2016 at his home while surrounded by his family.
“Joe” was born July 4, 1931 in Tyler County, WV, son of the late Theodore and Idona (Kimble) Cooper.
He was a retired rolling mill operator for the former Conalco Corp, a proud sharp shooter in the U.S. Marine Corp., loved hunting, fishing and cooking and a life-long member of the Buck Run Church of Christ. He currently served as a Deacon at the church. Buck Run church holds a special place in his heart, for that is where he met Ms. Nancy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by fourteen siblings.
Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Nancy J. (Slider) Cooper; three sons, Tom (Lue Ann) Cooper of Paden City, WV, Doug (Kay) Cooper of Middlebourne, WV and Scott (Jean) Cooper of Paden City, WV; daughter, De (Ed) Klug of Proctor, WV; ten grandchildren, Becky (Joe) Thomas, Sarah Cooper, Kari (Chris) Camerlin, Nicholas (Rupi) Klug, Daniel (Erin) Cooper, Amber (Andrew “A.J.”) Witschey, Andy Cooper, Chad (Danielle) Cooper, Gabi Cooper and Luke Cooper; ten great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV where service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 27, 2016 with Kenny Keifer officiating.
Interment to follow in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.
The Honor Guard will conduct graveside services.
