Bennie Lee Lewis, 84, of New Martinsville, WV died Thursday, April 14, 2016 he was surrounded by his family while at Genesis New Martinsville.

Bennie was born January 5, 1932 in New Martinsville, WV, son of the late Thomas and Lottie (Kocher) Lewis.

He was a retired self-employed landscaper and a Christian.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty “Delores” Lewis; three daughters, Lucy Christian and two infants Linda and Debbie Lewis; and several brothers and a sister.

Surviving are his life companion, Verna Hall of New Martinsville, WV; six daughters, Peggy Riggs of New Martinsville, WV, Louella (Steve) Southerly of Sistersville, WV, Betty (Ray) Davis of New Martinsville, WV, Shelia (Tom Neff) Adams of Sistersville, WV, Anna Blake and Mary Moffitt both of New Martinsville, WV; eight sons, Rick Lewis, Dearreal Lewis, Roger (Janice) Hall, Randy (Sue) Lewis, Matt (Bertha) Lewis, Russell (Paulene) Hall, Bennie (Kara) Hall and William “Nick” Hall all of New Martinsville, WV; one brother, Harold (Sue) Lewis of Cameron, WV; two sisters, Freda Eastham of New Martinsville, WV and Bessie Stillwagoner of Mt. Vernon, IN; several grandchildren, several great grandchildren with another one coming in August; one great great grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2-8 p.m., Sunday, April 17, 2016 at the Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV where services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, April 18, 2016.

Interment to follow in Northview Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home in Bennie’s memory.
