Joretta Jean Lemley Tallman, 87, of Paden City, WV died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 while at Sistersville General Hospital.

Joretta was born April 26, 1931 in New Martinsville, WV; daughter of the late Stanley and Zelma (Powell) Lemley.

She was a homemaker, retired clerk for Columbia Gas, worked several years at the Paden City Post Office, past member of the Paden City Boosters and Paden City Band Patrons, member of the United Methodist Women’s and member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Homer E. Tallman; seven siblings, Elnora Burgbacher, David Lemley, Mary Miller, Vedna Girten, Betty Lee Miller, Rose Marie Fankhouser and Thomas E. Lemley.

Surviving are two sons, Michael (India) Tallman of Paden City, WV and David (Carol) Tallman of New Martinsville, WV; daughter, Kathy (Frank) Giovinazzo of Paden City, WV; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Catherine) Kroll, Jennifer (Bryan) Delsite, David S. (Natalie) Tallman, Christopher (Haley) Tallman, Daniel (Amanda) Tallman, Nathan (Tayla) Tallman and Amanda Tallman; seven great grandchildren, Benjamin, Lydia and Sarah Delsite and Millie, Paisley and Beau Tallman and Tre and Brooklyn Tallman and Joretta was expecting her eighth great grandchild in December and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2018 at Jarvis-Williams Funeral Home, 1224 S Bridge St., New Martinsville, WV. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Paden City with Pastor Sheri Kernik officiating.

Burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in New Martinsville, WV.

Memorial contributions may be made, in Joretta’s name, to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 130 S Fourth Ave., Paden City, WV 26159.
