Obituary

Jerrie D. Ott, Sr., 78, of St. Marys, WV formerly of Paden City passed from this life peacefully in his sleep on August 13, 2019 at The Heritage of St. Marys.

He was born May 25, 1941 in Fairmont, WV to Charles and Susie (Harker) Ott. After graduating from Fairmont Senior High School, he went on to serve his country as a military police officer in the US Army. He was a long time employee of the former Ormet Corporation in Hannibal, OH. For many years, Jerrie coached youth athletics in Paden City and was a statistician for PCHS Football. He loved cheering on the WVU Mountaineers and Paden City Wildcats and as his family expanded, the St. Marys Blue Devils and Williamstown Yellow Jackets.

He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Linda (Frame) Ott. Surviving are his children, Darla (Doug) Schnegg of Hannibal, OH, Marsha (Brad) Croasmun of Paden City, WV and Jerry (Stacey) Ott, Jr. of Williamstown, WV; grandchildren, Eric Croasmun, Jessica Schnegg, Adam Croasmun, Emily Ott and Ty Ott.

At the request of Jerrie, there will be a private memorial service for immediate family and close friends and he will be interred at a later date in Paden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made, in Jerrie’s name, to the Paden City High School Football Team, 201 N 4th Ave., Paden City, WV 26159.
